Home Tour: Cottage Charm In Buckhead

I love the work of architect, William B. Litchfield, so I was thrilled to see this home he recently helped to renovate along with interior designer, Jackye Lanham – a charming 1930s cottage in Buckhead, Atlanta, featured in the August issue of Atlanta Homes.
The image above stopped me in my tracks when I first saw it. I love everything about this front entrance, from the beautiful arches to the lovely neutral meets high contrast palette. The rest of the house is just as chic. So many fabulous design elements are at work here- rustic beams, iron windows, wide plank floors, the list goes on and on. Easy elegance at its finest.

Cement tiles are a decor trend I'm loving these days. Beautiful bathrooms and laundry rooms provide great inspiration on how to implement a lot of pattern, without getting too overwhelmed. Here are a few of my favorite examples - and scroll through to the bottom to find some great affordable sources.

Home Tour: Airy and Inviting In West Hampton

So exciting to see my friends' beautiful modern beach house in this month's Hampton's Cottages and Gardens Architecture Issue!  Highlighting the work of their talented architect, Stuart Diston of Austin Patterson Disston Architects and the interior design firm, of Ornstein Rabiner, it was so fun to see this chic home featured in a publication I know and love. Having just visited with my friends in their fabulous abode a few weeks ago, I can attest to the fact that this home is even more beautiful in person.

Weekend Wrap Up

We've only got one more trip up to Rhode Island on the calendar this summer - and then pre-season, over scheduled kids's schedules and college visits take over our lives. I'm determined to squeeze in as much sun, fun and relaxation as I can, while I still can!

Fall Preview

Here in Connecticut, the temps cooled down for a few days last week, which immediately made me think about new clothes for fall. Since I never really want summer to end, all the new fall fashion options always seem like the perfect antidote to back to school/back to reality stress and anxiety. Even just perusing the early offerings at some of my favorite online retailers made me feel a bit better. Here are a few things I've got my eye on, plus the one pair of shoes I've already gone ahead and ordered - these booties - officially obsessed!
